Credit Suisse Starts Fifth Centre of Excellence In Mumbai

Employees at the new CoE will perform a range of business functions from data gathering to investment analysis and risk and analytics modeling support

By CBR Staff Writer

Credit Suisse opened its fifth Center of Excellence (CoE) in Mumbai, India. The second facility in India is fully operational and will initially house Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) employees who provide support to the front office businesses of the investment bank. CoE provides global support services, and is a key global initiative of Credit Suisse to leverage talent around the world in an effective way.

Employees at the new CoE will perform a range of business functions from data gathering to investment analysis and will also provide risk and analytics modeling support. A range of other functions from different areas of the bank are expected to be included in the near future

Vineet Nagrani, head of KPO at Credit Suisse, said: The new CoE in Mumbai will enable the bank to expand its KPO offering and access the highly educated talent available in Mumbai.

Jon Theuerkauf, head of CoE at Credit Suisse, said: Since establishing the CoE initiative in 2006 we have deployed more than 8,000 roles, or around 15% of our workforce. With the opening of the Mumbai CoE, Credit Suisse will have five CoEs providing support to our operations in more than 50 countries around the world. By 2011, we hope to have over 9,000 roles deployed to our CoE network.

“The Mumbai CoE expands Credit Suisse’s footprint here in India. Together with our Pune CoE, it will help us maximize the bank’s resources, improve client services and ultimately enhance shareholder value.”
