Apple Computer Inc can laugh at Digital Equipment Corp (see below), the company that passed up the chance to become its partner: Standard & Poor’s Corp affirmed at A-2 the commercial paper rating of Apple, saying the action reflected the highly competitive conditions in the personal computer industry. The ratings agnecy says that it also assigned an A-minus rating to Apple’s proposed $300m Rule 415 shelf drawdown of senior notes due 2004.
