Creative Technology Ltd, Singapore is diversifying further with an agreement to acquire privately-held Reveal Computer Products Inc for of up to $65m in a combination of Creative’s preferred and common shares and 2.0 million warrants. After the deal, Reveal, which markets a range of personal computer peripherals, will become a subsidiary of Creative. Fellow Singaporean Aztech Systems Inc says it will make a capital gain of $2.5m from the sale of its 8.3% stake in Reveal Inc to Creative – Aztech invested $10m in Reveal in December 1994 in the form of preferred shares. The Aztech share price reacted badly on grounds that Reveal is a major customer of Aztech and may lose sales after the deal. Separately, Creative has a cross-licensing and development pact with Databeam Corp to do a tool kit to enable users to share and control Windows applications between sites in real time. Databeam will license Creative’s ShareVision and Creative will license Databeam Collaborative Computing Toolkit Series. Aztech added the AZT2320 Super Integrated Audio Chip with OPL3 FM Synthesis, Plug’n’Play and SoundBlaster compatibility.
