Singapore-based SoundBlaster king Creative Technology Ltd appears to be under siege from all sides, what with new Media chips springing up from every direction, and Intel Corp attempting to integrate every multimedia function it can think of into its own CPUs. We are always a very paranoid company when it comes to competition, chairman Sim Wong Hoo told Reuters recently, nevertheless dismissing the latest perceived threat, from Venture Manufacturing Ltd, also of Singapore, whose NovaStation software has been billed as a cheaper alternative to Creative’s soundcards.
