Cray Research Inc reports that the Department of Earth & Planetary Sciences at Harvard University ordered a Cray J916 supercomputer with installation set for second quarter 1995: it will be the first Cray supercomputer acquired by Harvard, and will be used to study the origin of the Earth’s magnetic field.
