CRAY TO RESELL PORTLAND’S FORTRAN COMPILER ON PARALLEL T3D, T3E

Cray Research Inc is to resell The Portland Group Inc’s pghpf high performance Fortran compiler on its T3D and T3E Alpha RISC- based parallel processors. Portland will also develop and support a programming model that merges Cray’s Craft parallel development environment into pghpf. The model will ship across all of Cray’s systems and to Portland customers later this year. The two firms had already announced a plan to put the Fortran product on Cray systems.
