Cray Research Inc reports that the Minnesota Supercomputer Center Inc is to buy a T3D massively parallel processing system: the agreement also calls for the centre and Cray research to collaborate in making additional commercial software available on the Alpha-based box; terms were not disclosed; the 128-processor Cray T3D system is scheduled to be installed next quarter.
