Realising that the XMS minisupecomputer derived from its Supertek acquisition’s S-1 X-MP-compatible box is not what users really want, Cray Research Inc is offering anyone that buys an XMS a financial credit when they upgrade to the forthcoming Y-MP-compatible minisuper. The offer applies to XMSs ordered by next April 30 for delivery in 1991 and the follow-on box must be ordered installed by December 31 1992.
