Cray Research Inc’s Cray Research Superservers Inc in Beaverton, Oregon is installing three of its S-MP Sparc-based minisupercomputers in China, the official Xinhua News Agency reported: the Chinese State Education Commission and the World Bank chose the company to supply the machines to three Chinese universities; Clem Lau, the company’s sales manager for Asia, confirmed the sale, but refused to disclose the value of the contract, but Cray will open an office in Peking soon.
