Cray Research Inc has launched Cray Molding Logic 2.0 which the Eagan, Minnesota company reckons could revolutionise the way leading-edge plastics manufacturing is done in the plastics, automotive and plastic-associated industries: the software was engineered in co-operation with General Motors Research & Development, and predicts optimal manufacturing for plastic injection molding processes, and is expected to reduce the costs associated with plastic injection moulding manufacturing, help speed production of plastic parts and components, and result in higher quality products; it’s from $18,000 for a paid up licence only on Cray supercomputers.
