Cray Research Inc reports that the Cray Fortran 90 programming environment will be available in August on Sparc systems running the Solaris 2.3 Unix operating environment: it has signed Absoft Corp to develop, market and distribute versions of the Fortran 90 compiler for desktop computers using 80486 and Pentium processors, and for the new PowerPC-based Power Macintoshes.
