James Love of the Consumer Project on Technology (CPT) got back to us yesterday to say that rather than one individual or organization persuading CPT to get involved in the domain name system debate, tons of people have asked me to get involved, over the past year. Love, who works at CPT alongside consumer advocate Ralph Nader, points out that he is also co-chair of the working group on e-commerce of the recently-launched Trans Atlantic Consumer Dialog project, and the DNS debate is on its work plan. Love was in Australia when the letter to CPT from ICANN chair Esther Dyson was published on Tuesday, hence his delay in commenting.
