At the end of February software distributor CPS signed a distributor agreement with Contact EAST, a company founded by Sunny Tyrrell – formerly Symantec Corp manager res ponsible for Russia. Contact EAST represents the interests of California-based Touchstone Software Corp in the former Soviet Union. Under the agreement CPS will be the first Russian TochStoun distributor and will market the family of utilities products such as Check-It and Test & Tools. In order to accelerate the take-up of the products in Russia there will be an initial half price promotion. CPS will organise the localisation of the products. CPS was established in December 1993 because many of the existing software distributors were selling retail and undermining their dealers. Moscow-based Russian software dealers VEST, Integronik, Nord Pilgrim Electronics, Laiba and Sergey Fenev (former director of the Association of Software Publishers).
