COVIA TO ADD TOURINC DATABASE TO THE APOLLO COMPUTERISED AIR RESERVATION SYSTEM

By CBR Staff Writer

Covia Inc, the reservations system affiliate of United Airlines Inc is claiming a first with an agreement to add World ComNet’s Tourinc tour operator database to the Apollo computerised air reservation system: the agreement will enable travel agents using Apollo to gain instant information and confirmations on tours offered by 40 of the leading US tour operators, and Covia reckons that at present, no other major travel reservation system offers access to a fully automated tour database as comprehensive or efficient as Tourinc is.
