COURT RULES THAT AVANT! ARCELL TOOL USES STOLEN SOFTWARE

Avant! Corp finally had a legitimate use for the exclamation mark after its name, following a San Francisco court’s decision that its ArcCell semiconductor design tool uses software code taken from its competitor Cadence Design Systems Inc. An injunction has been issued to stop Avant! selling the product – not too serious because it is an old product. But a newer product, called Aquarius, faces a similar investigation after Cadence claimed it was essentially ArcCell under a different name.
