The mystery of First Virtual’s wildly oscillating strategy (CI No 3,465) is more than adequately explained by the fact that First Virtual Corp and First Virtual Holdings Inc are two entirely different companies. As astute readers pointed out, the First Virtual Corp (Nasdaq: FVCX) that teamed with NEC to build Next Generation Internet infrastructure is not the same as the First Virtual Holdings Inc (Nasdaq: FVHI) that ceded its payments business to Cybercash.
