CORPORATION FOR NATIONAL RESEARCH INITIATIVES WIN AWARD …

The Corporation for National Research Initiatives, which wants to build a super-high-speed data network across the US with support from IBM, MCI Communications Corp, AT&T Co and others, has been awarded $15.8m by the US National Science Foundation and the Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency for a three-year study into alternative designs for the network: it is estimated that the proposed network would cost some $390m to construct.
