Corp claims to have created a prototype artificial retina, and is claiming a world first for it: the membrane is said to mimic the vertebrate retina by transforming optical signals into electrical pulses and the company sees it being used in machine vision systems, lenses for video cameras and for alleviating impaired human sight.
