Corel Corp shocked the market and rocked its shares by warning that it will likely report a third quarter loss of $0.05 to $0.07 a share after hitting delays in shipping its Office Professional 7 suite – despite a gain of about $0.10 a share from the sale of its CD Creator product line to Adaptec Inc. It says the amount of product ordered but not shipped and therefore not included in the revenue for the quarter was about $15m. Corel says it remains optimistic about sales of its new Corel WordPerfect suite.
