COREL READIES SOFTWARE FOR NET VIDEO CALLS

Corel Corp, Ottawa reckons that you are just dying to start making videophone calls over the Internet using standard telephone lines, and for its next trick it plans to offer the necessary software and a camera (bring your own modem) – for about $300, starting this summer, Dow Jones & Co reports. The firm is reportedly talking to Vivo Software Inc and PictureTel Corp but it says it may end up writing its own software, in which case time is tight.
