The long-standing copyright dispute between Qubie and IBM appears to be at an end; the two companies have signed an agreement to the mutual satisfaction of both parties – which would imply that the MS-DOS micro clone manufacturer has followed Dell Computer’s lead and acceeded to IBM’s demands for retroactive payments: Qubie has also announced a top-of-the-range 80286 model, the 10MHz ATurbo Executive comes with a 42Mb hard disk, EGA screen and internal tape streamer, an extended memory RAM card with a potential for up to four megabytes is available as an optional extra; the UKP2,000 box is to meet demand for ATs since IBM abandoned them.
