Convex Computer Corp will today unveil what it reckons is the first software system that will enable users to run desktop and supercomputing applications on a parallel system: SPP Software Environment will come with development tools and other facilities for use on Convex’s parallel systems; thus far there has been no massively parallel machine that is both hardware and software compatible with any major existing applications base.
