Convex Computer Corp, Richardson, Texas, has found itself a powerful partner in Japan in the shape of Nippon Kokan KK, the fifth largest Japanese steel maker, which will market the C-1 and C-2 minisupercomputers running Nippon Kokan’s own applications: its software range includes image and fluid analysis, developed as part of steelmaking and its shipbuilding activities, and the systems to be offered are expected to be in demand from academic institutions and civil aviation, electronics companies and auto manufacturers.
