If freedom of speech were not enshrined in the Constitution and America’s libel laws were as onerous and juries as silly as they are in the UK, no productive work would be done in the United States – the entire population would take up the legal profession and spend their whole time suing each other for libel… Convex Computer Corp, Richardson, Texas is the latest victim of one of those pestilential shareholder lawsuits, claiming that the company and three officers misled shareholders about weak demand for the C3 series and product delays from shortage of components on the new C3400 machines; the suit seeks class action on behalf of anyone that bought shares in the company between January 24 and June 30.
