The Vienna, Virginia-based Convera announced that John Polchin stepped into the role which was made vacant following the resignation of Chris Mann last fall.
Polchin, 40, will also act as executive vice president and treasurer for the firm. His duties will extend to overseeing human resource and administrative functions.
Polchin previously served as CFO of InteliData Technologies Corp, a provider of online banking solutions.
Convera has been shuffling its executive pack a lot this year. In March the company also lost its longstanding COO James Buchanan, who resigned to take on a role at workforce management software company PeopleClick Inc to prep the company for an expected IPO this year.
