Convera has entered into a reseller relationship with Tornado Technologies Co. Ltd., a leading Taiwan-based information retrieval and linguistic analysis firm. Taipei-based Tornado will help Convera sell its RetrievalWare software into its core markets of Taiwan, mainland China and Hong Kong.
Vienna, Virginia-based Convera will also benefit from Tornado’s vertical strengths in the manufacturing, semiconductor, telecommunications, and government sectors.
Tornado’s Information Retrieval Management System (IRMS) has already been deployed by many local manufacturing firms to link and integrate internal data sources.
Tornado is also localizing and modifying RetrievalWare’s interface to better address the Chinese market.
