Control Data Corp, which sells the Silicon Graphics Computer Corp Iris workstations as the Cyber 910-500, says that the $10m order for 181 stations – the largest single such order for either firm (CI No 808) – will give Chrysler engineers access to Chrysler’s own CAD/CAM programs on the workstations as well as on a network of 30 CDC Cyber mainframes and a Cyber 205 supercomputer at the automaker’s Technical Computer Centre in Highland Park, Michigan.
