Amey Plc, a UK public company best known as a construction outfit, has signaled big ambitions in IT services with a 5m-pound ($8.1m) acquisition of IT Counsel Plc, an IT and network services company. IT Counsel is a highly-profitable company which made pre-tax profits last year of 500,000 pounds ($810,000) on revenues of 2.4m pounds ($3.9m) and will operate as a unit of Amey Vectra, which already offers a range of IT services.
