Two consortia, one led by RWE Energie AG with Mannesmann Eurokom GmbH, Deutsche Bank AG and a number of smaller companies, the other led by VIAG AG with Bayernwerk AG, Allianz AG, IBM Deutschland GmbH, Badenwerk AG, Bayerische Hypotheken-und Wechsel-Bank AG, VEW AG, Isar-Amperwerke AG and others, are contending for the license to build and run Germany’s second mobile radio data network; the contract is to be awarded at the end of May.
