CONNER STORAGE SYSTEMS ENTERS RAID ARRAY MARKET

The Lake Mary, Florida Conner Storage Systems arm of Conner Peripherals Inc has entered the RAID disk subsystems market with CR6-RAID, an external system with six 1 high 1Gb 3.5 Winchester drives, which offers up to 6Gb of storage capacity, supporting RAID level zero, one and five, in both bootable software and hardware RAID implementations. Certified for Novell Inc NetWare 3.1 and 4.0 environments, the subsystems are offered in three versions – the CR611DE EISA bus and CR611DM Micro Channel are software-based and they cost $11,000 each. The hardware-based CR622DM subsystem with EISA bus is $13,000; all are to be available this month.
