Conner Peripherals Inc yesterday launched the Pancho Series of 2.5 disks with 19mS access time in capacities of 32Mb for the CP-2034; 42Mb, CP-2044; and 64Mb, CP-2064. Only 0.75 high, they draw 1.3W from a single 5V supply and have AT interface, with others planned. The new Summit is a 510Mb 3.5 drive which comes with AT – CP-3504, or SCS – CP-3500 and is 1.625 high. They have 256K of segmented cache and 12mS average seek time.The 2.5 Kato 20Mb 2.5 drive is now available in SCSI CP-2020 version. The first in the Gator Series is a 0.75 high 3.5 disk storing 85Mb: the Gator CP-4084 has an AT interface and draws 1.5W. There is also a new 84Mb Hopi, the CP-30080 with SCSI. The Summit Series was developed with Olivetti; Pancho with Compaq; Kato with Epson; Gator with GRiD Systems, and the new Hopi drive with a major OEM customer who will announce a system in the first quarter of 1991. The 510Mb Summit is $1,300; the 30Mb Pancho is $400; 40Mb $445; 60Mb $500; the 20Mb SCSI Kato is $300; 85Mb Gator and 84Mb Hopi, $500 each, all in single unit quantities.
