Conner Peripherals Inc, San Jose warns that as it is continuing to accelerate its transition to newer products and will increase the rate at which it will complete the end of life of older, less profitable products, and that it is still seeing continuing softness in industry demand, operating results for the second quarter will be below analysts’ expectations, and it will report a loss for the third quarter; industry conditions will remain difficult in the short term, said Finis Conner, chairman and chief executive; however, we are taking the steps necessary to put us in a strong position when conditions improve; we remain committed to supporting our worldwide customer base with the introduction and volume production of leading edge storage solutions components, including disk, tape and software.
