CONNECTIX-NCI ALLIANCE AIMS AT VIDEOCONFERENCING FOR THE NC

By CBR Staff Writer

Connectix Corp, the RAM doubler company with the QuickCam single chip camera for personal computer videoconferencing, is hoping to capitalize on Oracle Corp’s network computer vision following the announcement of its strategic alliance with Oracle’s Network Computer Inc. Under the terms of the relationship, the Oracle Network Computer subsidiary will become a gold level member of Connectix’ QuickCam developer program, and aims to integrate Connectix’ digital camera technology into NCI’s network computers. Network Computer Inc’s chief executive, Jerry Baker, reckons videoconferencing will be a key application area for the network computer, and says the two companies will work together to develop the necessary technology.
