Concert, the global alliance between British Telecommunications Plc and MCI Communications Corp for its corporate customers, will be delivered in Moscow by the Institute for Automated Systems. The first Concert node has already been installed in Moscow. It has 10 potential corporate users, including Microsoft Corp, Compaq Computer Corp, Nissan Motor Co, the Swedish Embassy and Air France. Another node is expected to be installed in St Petersburg soon. Using the Rospac X.25 data network, the Institute for Automated Systems can connect 40 cities throughout the Commonwealth of Independent States. Initially the service will be based on the X.25 protocol, although there is a plan to introduce Frame Relay technology later this year. The institute says the hook-up fee will be $2,115 plus about $2,000 per month.
