Comtech Mobile receives $8m order for BFT-HC transceiver

It will maximize satellite bandwidth efficiency and enable operations in highly disadvantaged areas

Comtech Telecommunications has announced that its subsidiary Comtech Mobile Datacom has received an $8m order under its indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract with the US Army Communications Electronics Command. Total orders received to date against this $216m contract increased to $211.3m.

Under this order, Comtech will build, test, and deliver its next-generation Blue Force Tracking High Capacity (BFT-HC) satellite transceiver to the US Army.

According to the company, the order also includes field testing and demonstration of Comtech’s network system as well as preliminary testing of its BFT-HC satellite ground and aviation transceivers.

We remain proud of our continued involvement in the FBCB2-BFT Program, and look forward to supporting the new Joint Battle Command-Platform (JBC-P) program and other critical programs for the Department of Defense.

Comtech Mobile Datacom Corporation, a Germantown, Maryland-based company, is engaged in the provision of satellite-based packet data communication systems and location and messaging services through the use of advanced communication and network technology.
