The orders include the CDM-Qx Multi-Channel Satellite Modem with DoubleTalk Carrier-in-Carrier bandwidth compression. DoubleTalk Carrier-in-Carrier is based on patented bandwidth compression technology originally developed by Applied Signal Technology. Using ‘Adaptive Cancellation’ it allows transmit and receive carriers of a two-way link to share the same transponder space.

Also included in the orders are Comtech EF Data’s C-Band Transceivers, which provide configuration flexibility and performance available only with power amplifier and frequency converter topologies.

Fred Kornberg, president and CEO of Comtech Telecommunications, said: “Users worldwide are benefiting from the multi-dimensional efficiencies provided by our DoubleTalk Carrier-in-Carrier technology. These orders are another example of Comtech’s ability to support global telecommunications infrastructures.

Recently Comtech Telecommunications announced today that its subsidiary Comtech EF Data Corp received a $1.2 million order for satellite communications equipment. The equipment will be utilized by the United States Government to expand an existing military communications network in the Middle East. The order specifies SLM-5650A Satellite Modems with the Network Processor module, which will integrate with the Vipersat Management System already deployed in this network for automated network and capacity management.

Comtech EF Data manufactures broad spectrum of satellite communications products, including Satellite Modems, Bandwidth & Capacity Management, TCP/IP Performance Enhancement Proxies, Encapsulators, Receivers, Converters, Amplifiers, Transceivers and Terminals.
