Its Vantage tool, which tracks software performance and availability, supports several elements of service design that are part of the new ITIL standard. They include maintaining a business and technical services catalog, which details the IT services and their relationships to internal business processes, using Vantage’s Service Model.

Additionally, Vantage monitors Service Level Management, Availability Management and also provides reports on the performance of external service providers. It supports ITIL’s event and incident management, and provides capabilities for data center managers to prioritize problem resolution base on their business impact.

Compuware is also adding in Six Sigma analyses such as Pareto Charts, Control Charts, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, and Sigma Process Value based on defects and opportunities.
