COMPUTERS ACCOUNT FOR HIGHER PERCENTAGE OF TANDY’S CHRISTMAS TURNOVER THIS YEAR

By CBR Staff Writer

Tandy UK, now part of the new InterTan Inc, says that computers accounted for between 18% and 20% of turnover this Christmas compared with 15% to 16% last year: chairman John Sayers says that the company’s warehouses are now cleaned out of Tandy’s Color Computer 2, the 102 and 200 briefcase portables, and the Amstrad CPC464 and 6128 home machines; he also says that the UKP20 price cut on the Amstrad PCW8256 between Christmas and New Year led to significantly increased sales.
