COMPUTERM BUYS McDATA’s LINKMASTER GATEWAY PRODUCT LINE

By CBR Staff Writer

Computerm Corp of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has bought the LinkMaster 6100 and 6200 local network gateway product lines from McData Corp to enter the network integration market. The company says the LinkMaster products complement its own channel extension systems with native support of Frame Relay. It notes that the 6100 and 6200 were the first 3172-compatible local area network gateways and says it will enhance them with Data Link Switching, Frame Relay and an Advanced SNA/IP Gateway for NetWare so that users can support both SNA traffic and TCP over the same backbone.
