COMPUTERGROUP – INCREASED TURNOVER IN 1986

By CBR Staff Writer

ComputerGroup Ltd, which owns the ComputerLand franchises in Manchester, Salford, Leeds and Birmingham had a turnover of UKP5.5m in the year to December 31 1986, a 62% increase on 1985; the company has not released its profit figure but says, despite coming under severe margin pressure, it did better than almost all of its competitors; in this financial year, ComputerLand has bought the assets of the bankrupt Entr Computer Centre in Birmingham; the Brum store was Entr’s most successful in the UK, until it made the mistake of taking over the failed Leeds outlet last year.
