COMPUTER SCIENCES WINS MoD’s RAF CONTRACT

El Segundo, California-based Computer Sciences Corp has a two-year $23m contract from the UK Ministry of Defence to define the requirements for a modernized logistics system for the Royal Air Force: one of the largest information technology programmes ever undertaken by the Ministry of Defence, it is intended to save the RAF some #75m a year by improving the efficiency of the supply and engineering operations for its aircraft; parts of the work will be subcontracted to Data Sciences UK Ltd, Learmonth & Burchett Management Systems Plc, and Logistics Support Consultants Ltd; Computer Sciences beat out the Andersen Consulting arm of the accountancy firm andBritish Aerospace Plc for the pact.
