COMPUTER SCIENCES TO SELL MAJORITY STAKE IN ITS INFORNET BUSINESS

The plans of Computer Sciences Corp to sell a majority stake in its Infonet business to telecommunications operators in Europe and the Far East puts the spotlight on General Electric Co’s much bigger GE Information Services business, with its worldwide network and vast computer centres: might it be for sale? According to the Wall Street Journal, GE chairman John Welsh recently suggested he would sell the communications and services businesses.
