Spanish executives expect prices for computer and communications equipment to start falling when European Community directives come into full effect in Spain, according to a study from Spanish market research company Empresa de Marketing Informatico SA. Prices at the moment are higher in Spain than in other countries in the Community. Spain will also benefit, due to increased competition, in the areas of quality and service, while the appearance of standard price lists should stop users looking for better terms by buying outside Spain. Executives are optimistic about the changes that will occur in the computer market from 1993 onwards and also see that vendors are already adBTting their strategies for the Single European Market. The report finds that computerisation in Spanish companies is as high as in other Community countries.
