Australian giant software house and systems integrator Computer Power Pty Ltd has entered into a computer training joint venture in Japan with four Japanese partners: the venture will use the technology of its Computer Power Institute, a network of schools and atraining system developed from the base of Control Data Corp’s worldwide network of training centres, bought several years ago by Computer Power; courseware has already been translated into Japanese, adjusted to fit the Japanese requirements and incorporated into a CD-ROM for use in the Nippon Computer Power classroom; the joint venture partners are Taisei Constructions, one of Japan’s largest construction companies, with a 30% holding in the venture; Seiko Systems, a training subsidiary of Seiko Epson Co, 25%; Nippon Information Industry Co, a leading software house, and Infortech Inc, a small software company specialising in developing computer-aided instruction systems; Computer Power holds 25% of the venture; operations start in July.
