A 25-year-old computer hacker that the authorities once declared to be a very, very great danger to the community pleaded guilty to computer fraud in a plea bargain with federal prosecutors under which the hacker, Kevin David Mintick will be sentenced to 12 months in prison and three years on supervised release; Mintick pleaded guilty to charges he infiltrated DEC’s computer system and stole one of its programs, and admitted stealing 16 MCI Communications Corp telephone codes and using them to make phone calls; Mintick already has a conviction for like offences in Santa Cruz, California on his record.
