COMPUTER CONSOLES TAKES ALTOS 80386 UNIX BOXES

Hitherto an OEM Unix systems supplier itself, Computer Consoles Inc, Waltham, Massachusetts has gone to Altos Computer Systems Inc, San Jose, California for an entry model for its Power line, signing a $15m three-year contract for the 80386-based Series 1000 Unix machines. Computer Consoles will market the machines with its OfficePower integrated office automation software as the PowerServer 386/1000, with support for from four to 16 users. Computer Consoles has already started marketing the machines in the US with prices starting at $11,385.
