COMPUTER ASSOCIATES TO MAKE ITS CA-SUPERCALC AVAILABLE TO THE DEC VAX ENVIRONMENT

By CBR Staff Writer

Computer Associates Ltd of Slough, Berkshire, is to make its IBM mainframe spreadsheet CA-SuperCalc available to the DEC VAX environment: the spreadsheet offers a macro language, and the VAX/VMS version will provide intelligent data selection utilities for access to RMS files and databases such as Oracle, DEC’s RDB, Focus, and Computer Associates’ own Masterpiece and CA-Strategem software; other features include mechanisms to up and download spreadsheet files from SuperCalc5 and Lotus 1-2-3 running on MS DOS machines, and the product ships in the second quarter 1989.
