Computer Associates International Inc, based in Garden City, New York has announced its strategic direction for application development and enterprise information systems, which incorporates technology from the latest additions to its collection, Pansophic Systems Inc and On-Line Software International Inc. The company says that it will be consistent with CA90s – its Computing Architecture For The 90s, and promises it will offer portable multi-environment offerings for IMS and DB2 users, which will provide client-server and distributed computing, graphical user interfaces, and integrated SQL support. Computer Associates also announced support for the underlying principles embodied in IBM Corp’s AD/Cycle and Information Warehouse initiatives; the new CA-IMSQL is said to provide full SQL capabilities for users of the IMS/DB database.
