COMPUTER ASSOCIATES TAKES STAKE IN GRAPHICS SOFTWARE HOUSE

By CBR Staff Writer

Computer Associates International Inc has gained an equity stake of unspecified size in 3Name3D, the cutting edge computer graphics firm based in Santa Monica, California. 3Name3D employs a host of talented 3D designers who work with big name clients like 20th Century Fox and Sega Ltd, providing 3D models which replicate real world surroundings. CA hopes to put this talent to work on its own Unicenter TNG (The Next Generation) product. Unicenter incorporates a 3-D Real World Interface as part of a graphical visualization problem solving package. The idea is that the experts from 3Name3D will make the interface that bit more real.
