Computer Associates International Inc’s promised white paper delineating make-up and delivery time scales for OpenIngres 2.0 will be published around the time of UniForum. Specifications went before the firm’s largest Ingres users last week in the US and this week in Europe. Most details are nailed down but there is apparently a number of different ways that three unnamed key components could go. The firm is canvassing customer opinion on which approaches to take and hopes at the same time to make the users feel they own a piece of the product’s strategic direction.
